Durisseau Frances New Frances Durisseau

Everybody has gone through something that has changed them in a way that they could never go back
to the person they once were. Life has so many different chapters. One bad chapter doesn’t mean it’s the end of the book. I know that there are many more good ones coming ahead, but there have been some plot changes that I didn’t expect in the novel of my life. I believed that I had the outline of each chapter planned ahead, ready for the lines to be written and the pages to be filled as the years unfolded. But real life stepped in and has caused a rewrite to take place.
Just like in a good book, many exciting things have happened in my life. In fact, it truly would have all the elements for an incredible book or even a screenplay that would far surpass any Hallmark or Lifetime movie.
Many times I’ve had to say: “Today I close the door to the past, I open the door to the future, take a deep breath, take a step of faith and start a new chapter in my life.” Each time, I had no idea what the next day would bring but I chose to hold my head up, maintain my faith and keep hope alive, while at the same time shaking in my shoes.
People often tell me I am wise, strong and courageous. If I am, I owe it to every pain, heartbreak, tear and obstacle that I have faced and endured because they have helped mold and shape me into who I am today. Even right now, I don’t know what tomorrow holds for me but I’m trying to fill this difficult chapter with as much good as I can.
Although I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, I’m going to hold my head high, think positive and expect the best. Sometimes, you just have to stop worrying, wondering and doubting and accept that this is your life. It may not be how you planned it but it’s what you have to work with.
Find something you love to do and do it. If you don’t like something, change it. Don’t over-analyze everything. Start writing those chapters and filling up those blank pages. It’s going to be an incredible story when it’s all said and done and I, for one, want an autographed copy!
