The Don’t Mess With Texas® Scholarship recognizes the achievements of high school seniors who have taken leadership roles
to prevent litter in their schools and communities and build awareness of the Don’t mess with Texas initiative.

SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
Alexander Sholmire

Texas City High School,
Texas City, TX

Alexander has grown up enjoying the environment of the Texas Coastline. Maintaining the cleanliness of the marsh/wetlands of the Texas Coastline.
He and his family participate in the annual “Trash Bash” along the coast collecting, disposing, or recycling more than 54 tons of trash and 1.5 tons of
recyclable materials. Alexander plans to attend Texas A&M College Station to study Political Science.
