Clear Creek, Texas City each celebrate Homecoming Week

Today, Wednesday: Texas City will hold its Homecoming parade at 6:00pm as the Stingarees football team will be center stage with the cheerleaders, drill team and band.
In the event of a Game 5 of the American League Division Series, the Astros will host Boston Red Sox beginning at 4:00pm. The game would be televised by FS1.

Tomorrow, Thursday: The District 23-5A cross-country meet will be held at Briscoe Park in Alvin as the first step toward a state championship bid begins.

Friday: Volleyball action starts at 4:30pm with Galveston Ball at Manvel, Hitchcock at Rice, Shadow Creek at Texas City and Santa Fe at Fort Bend Willowridge. Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Clear Falls at Clear Springs, Dickinson at Alvin and East Bernard at La Marque each begin at 6:00pm
The football schedule is highlighted by Clear Brook visiting Friendswood with a 7:00pm kickoff. Alvin at Clear Creek (Homecoming), Clear Falls at Clear Lake, Santa Fe at Galveston Ball and Galena Park at Texas City(Homecoming) will also have 7:00pm kickoffs, while District 12-3A-1 play begins with Anahuac at Hitchcock and La Marque (in their first road trip of the season) is at Hardin. Both of those games will have 7:30pm kickoffs.
With the start of the NBA regular season beginning this Tuesday, the Rockets will host rival San Antonio Spurs beginning at 7:00pm. The game will be televised on TNT as it is the final preseason contest for Houston before starting the regular season on the road at defending World Champion Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

Saturday: One of the area’s biggest high school football games of the season starts at 1:00pm as Clear Springs visits Dickinson. There will also be a volleyball contest as Friendswood is at Clear Creek starting at noon.
