Many are facing difficult times right now. Hurricane Harvey destroyed so much for so many. Some have lost their most precious possessions, some cannot go home, some have lost jobs due to his visit. People have loved ones that are sick. Some have lost loved ones. Life isn’t always easy is it? Sometimes our journey takes us down paths that are dark and uncertain, and even though we must travel them, each step is heavy and often soaked with tears. I have a 30 year old son that has lost a job due to the fact he was sick with various symptoms. He was admitted to the hospital thinking he had a stroke, but that stroke turned out to be a tumor at the base of his brain and top of his spinal cord. He doesn’t have insurance. He is now having seizures and is left with a left side that is weak, numb, and it won’t get better until we can get him approved for disability along with medicaid so a private doctor will see him. I’m sure many of you have had experiences such as this. It’s hard to see him in that wheelchair and be helpless to actually help him. Remember to reach out to those who are hurting, have had losses, who are facing serious times. Remember that we all “Get By With A Little Help From Our Friends” as the song proclaims. Allow love to help ease the pain and heartache that you feel or that another might be feeling. It is love and compassion that will carry us all through.
