FIVE AREA boys and girls basketball teams
are ranked in this week’s Texas Association of
Basketball Coaches state polls, yet the biggest
surprise is the absence of perennial 6A girls powerhouse
Clear Springs, which fell out of the poll
following four straight losses.
Even with the Chargers out of the poll, District
24-6A is well-represented in the girls poll, as Clear
Creek is ranked fifth overall on the strength of a
7-0 start. Clear Falls is ranked seventh in the poll
with a strong 7-1 start from the Knights.
In the girls Class 3A poll, Hitchcock is 25th after
the Bulldogs started off the early portion of the
regular season with a 1-1 mark. ‘
Two boys teams are ranked this week, with
Dickinson sitting at 23rd in the 6A poll with an
overall 4-3 record. La Marque is ranked 11th in the
3A poll sporting a record of 2-3 entering this week.
