BE THE CHANGE YOU NEED TO SEE

As I look around in the world today I begin to notice how
so many people are griping and complaining about what
they don’t have what someone else has, and I could just
go on and on about that. So in today’s article I would like
to talk to you about being content in even the hard times.
Philippians 4:12 says “I know what it is to be in need
and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret
of being content in any and every situation whether
well fed or hungry whether living in plenty or in want.” We
hear Paul talking to the Philippians about being content in
all situations. And us as Americans I really don’t think we
have a full idea of how good e really have it. If you think
about it you could be very hungry with no job or place
to live but if you stand out in front of a restaurant long
enough someone will buy you food. There are people in
third world countries that doesn’t have that opportunity
because there are no restaurants. There are situations
and things in your life that you are complaining about
right now and there is someone you may not even know
praying for that exact situation in their life.
I believe that as a people, we need to realize the everyday
things that we have and be thankful for them. Each
of us deal with challenges and difficulties and the lens we
are looking through is what makes all the difference. Do
you look at the cup half empty or half full? No matter how
you look at it, you have something in the cup. There are
some people that don’t even have a cup.
Just think about this for a second, there
was a guy riding a bike and he saw a guy
drive by in a beautiful car and he thought
to himself, “I sure wish I had that car.” At
that same moment a kid was walking up
the street looking at the guy with the bike
and he thought, “I sure wish I had that
bike.” Right above them,. peering out of
the window there was a kid in a wheelchair
looking over the banister looking at
the kid walking the street that was thinking
about the guy with the bike and he said
“I sure wish I could walk” Totally different
situations, different scenarios but they all
wanted something else, unaware they had
something that somebody else wanted.
So as we come upon this holiday season,
know you may not be able to get everything
you wanted to give people and
know you may not get everything you
wanted yourself, but you can be thankful for what you do
have. And I believe when we begin to be content in all
areas of our lives, that Psalms 37:4 will come to life where
it says “ Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you
the desires of your heart. “ And I believe when we make
His desires our desires, then he will provide everything
that we want and need. I pray todays message will help
some one to really realize that we are a blessed nation
and to be content in all things. I love you guys and continue
