Brenda Joyce Renchie gained her Angel’s Wings on March 10,
2018 after a long illness. Per her final wish, she was able to go
home with family and friends by her side.
Born in Austin, TX on May 31, 1953, Brenda – also best known
as “Gamma” – was preceded to Heaven by her mother, Margie
Ray Renchie, father, Robert Renchie, Sr. and younger brother
Robert Renchie, Jr.
After graduating Texas City High School, Brenda worked in a
variety of secretarial positions while also attaining her Associates
degree in business from College of the Mainland.
Brenda enjoyed life to the fullest, yet nothing made her happy
than to be in the company of her three grandchildren. Kevin
Sanders and Kobe and Keanan Gatson were her heart and
soul while giving the last 28 years of her life an undeniable
sense of purpose and unconditional love. Anyone who knew
Brenda was aware of how important being a grandmother was
to her.
She leaves behind her daughter, Keishia Gatson, her son,
Brandon C. Williams, the sports editor of The Post Newspaper,
and son-in-law, Otis Gatson along with her sister, Nettie
Randle, brothers Joseph Renchie and Tony Dantzler, nephews
Keree and Robert Renchie and niece Antaea Renchie and a
host of family members.
A memorial service celebrating her life was held on Saturday at
Bay Area Funeral Home in Texas City.
