Do you remember the movie Forrest Gump? The one starring Tom Hanks? Now, I’ve never seen that movie so I can’t tell you anything that happened it in. But, even without seeing the movie, I’m very well aware of its most infamous line “life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get”.

If Matranga’s name sounds familiar, this is because his father is Anthony Matranga—mayor of Hitchcock and grandson to Tony Matranga former Commissioner and First Marshall of Hitchcock.  When I spoke to him, Matranga told me he was born in Texas City and grew up in La Marque and Hitchcock. “My parents are divorced, so I split my time between the two cities,” he told me.
