IT WAS standing room only in the parking lot early this week as the county’s newest fast-food restaurant prepared to open its doors on Thursday.
By Wednesday, there were 110 happy campers sleeping out for the chance to help package 10,000 Chick-Fil-A meals for people in need – spurred on by the chance of earning themselves a year’s supply of similar meals absolutely free.
The League City franchise, owned by local businessman Travis Powell, plans to provide jobs for up to 100 workers from the vicinity.
