Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mom’s, step Mom’s, and Grandmother’s reading this today! I know quite a bit about being a mom having raised 10 children, a combination of both biological and adopted ones. They are all grown up now, most with children of their own. We worry, fret, wonder, celebrate, lose sleep, enjoy, drive ourselves crazy, invest most of our time and resources in raising our kids, to one day realize that we actually got the job done.
We look at them, their successes, joys, accomplishments, and even their struggles, with such pride in our hearts. Of all that we have done in our lives, being Mom, is usually what we feel is the most significant. The end result is supposed to be that empty nest feeling, and it should be a good one that we actually celebrate, not mourn, because even if the nest is empty, our jobs are never over.
Motherhood lasts long after we leave this earth. Our love, sacrifices, investments and deposits into the lives of our children live on for generations to come, and carries on into the lives of the future generations. Celebrate your Mothers today, because they are still influencing your life, whether they are with you or have passed on.
Celebrate being a Mother today because it is the most noble, high calling you will ever carry out. You are shaping and changing the world forever, all because you are a Mom! Have a blessed and beautiful day, filled with memories you can carry with you always.
