Inspirations by Frances Durisseau

We are in the throes of summer. Many are on vacations, or trips to the lake or the beach,or some other fun outings for the enjoyment of all.  I was out walking the puppy and people watching the other day and not every face I saw was a happy face. In fact some had very sad looks and some seemed to show a lot of frustration or discontentment. I took the time to say hello to each face I met, with a smile, just to see what the response would be. I got some responses back that were positive, and others ignored me totally, without smiling back. I thought about the fact that each face had a story unknown to me. It caused me to make a decision to be more pleasant as I am out and about, to share more smiles, more greetings, be openly kind. Maybe that smile I give might be contagious. Maybe that hello, how are you today will be a small thing I can do to cause another to feel more alive, cared about in some small way, or just noticed in this crazy world we live in. Maybe if we all put a little more effort into spreading a little bit of kindness it will be just what another soul needs to make their day a little easier to get through. Sometimes, in fact often, it’s the simple things in life that can make the biggest impact.
