Inspirations by Frances Durisseau
My daughter who lives in Chicago sent me a ‘new to me’ computer recently. What a blessing it has been. Except for the fact that I am not very good with electronics, computers, the remote for my cable, or anything that requires even a small amount of technical skills. As I started to complete writing my column, I went to my drafts to polish it up and get it sent off. My computer decided it was much smarter than me, and I was having difficulties getting it to cooperate. I found my patience quickly leaving, and my frustration and aggravation taking hold. Have you ever had those types of situations happen to you? I’m sure I’m not the only one. Living without my very computer savvy and mechanical husband has caused me to have to face challenges on many occasions, from computer issues to working on my vacuum cleaner, and simple things like changing light bulbs in the ceiling fixtures. So, tonight, after a few calming deep breaths and a little dialog with the furbabies, before too long I could almost find the humor in it. Maybe I needed a lesson in patience tonight. Maybe it wasn’t the right time to submit that column and I needed to save it for another issue. Maybe I needed a little interruption in my usual routine for some reason. Or just maybe I needed to give you a little glimpse into my everyday life and dilemmas, so you would know you’re not alone in yours. What a privilege and honor it is to be able to share my heart with each of you. I think that tonight, most of all, I’ve been reminded of that. ?
