(September 16, 2021) The inaugural Women in Leadership Awards (W.I.L.A.) hosted by the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce was hosted on September 15th at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City. A large crowd of 300 guests attended, all of the 18 Finalists were highlighted, 6 Winners were celebrated.

“The goal for the WILA program is to allow local businesses to honor key women in their organizations and inspire others to strive for excellence,” said Chamber Board Chairwoman Georgia Meyer Barzilay. “This event met and surpassed our goal! It was so inspiring for everyone who attended!”
Chamber President Page Michel said that “We could not be more pleased with the turnout and the community support that this awards program received. All of the women who were highlighted are awesome and deserving of this spotlight!” Next year’s 2022 WILA program is already in the planning stage. Nominations will be gathered next summer.
