Our twice-weekly newspaper is owned and published by David Day, who has spent almost 40 years in local newspaper sales and production. He believes that a newspaper’s primary function is connecting its community together and he began publishing The Post in 2003 to provide an alternative information source for Galveston County by covering local news and community information in a positive and factually accurate manner. He has also proved his community and reader-service credentials by making The Post a member of several local chambers of commerce and encouraging his staff to volunteer for nonprofit activities throughout the county. In the intervening years, this attitude has brought his newspaper more than 70,000 weekly readers, who regularly tell us that they like our mix of information about local concerns, area sports, charity events, entertainment and business news. As a result, we now have a long list of regular advertisers and have become the official newspaper of record for the cities of League City and Dickinson and the weekly-legal-notice newspaper for the county.
