Area baseball and softball teams will be involved in tournaments throughout the state this weekend, with several of them locally. Ball, Hitchcock, and Santa Fe will host baseball tourneys while Clear Creek ISD hosts their annual softball tourney.
Wednesday: No events on the schedule.
Thursday: Tourneys abound in both baseball and softball.
Baseball will have Ball hosting the Sandbar Invitational, including Clear Creek. Clear Brook is at the La Porte Varsity Tournament, while Clear Falls, Dickinson, Friendswood, and Texas City are at the Pearland Tournament. Clear Springs competes at the Humble ISD Tournament, with Hitchcock hosting the Andre Derouen Jr Bash. La Marque is at the Van Vleck Tournament, while Santa Fe hosts the SFISD Tournament.
In softball, Ball is at the Corpus Christi ISD Tournament, with each of the five Clear Creek ISD schools, Dickinson, and Friendswood are among the teams at the CCISD Tournament. Hitchcock is at the Palacios Tournament, La Marque at the Galena Park Tournament, and Santa Fe at the Gregory-Portland Tournament.
La Marque’s soccer teams are in action as the girls visit Sweeny at 5:30 PM, while the boys start at 7:15 PM.
Friday: In track and field, the Charger Relays at Challenger-Columbia will include each CCISD school and Dickinson, while Hitchcock is at the Bay City Relays. Santa Fe is at the MUD Relays at Pasadena Memorial.
Boys soccer will have Ball at Iowa Colony, Deer Park at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Clear Creek, Clear Lake at Dickinson, Clear Springs at Brazoswood, Santa Fe at Angleton, and Texas City at La Porte at 7:30 PM.
On the girls’ soccer schedule, Iowa Colony at Ball, Clear Brook at Deer Park, Clear Creek at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Springs, Angleton at Santa Fe, and La Porte at Texas City start at 7:30 PM.
The Rockets return from the All-Star Break by hosting the Timberwolves at 8:30 PM. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 8 PM with the pregame show. The game will also be nationally televised on ESPN.
Saturday: La Marque hosts Stafford in a pair of soccer matches. The boys start at 10 AM, while the girls begin at noon.
The Rockets hit the road for an 8:30 PM contest at the Jazz. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 8 PM with the pregame show.
