Longtime stalwarts Alex Bregman, Kyle Tucker, and Justin Verlander are no longer with the Astros as they begin the 2025 regular season on Thursday. Newcomers Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker make their Houston debuts when the Mets arrive at the newly-named Daikin Park.
Wednesday: Hitchcock’s track and field teams will compete the district championships, which will be held in Hempstead beginning at 11 AM.
Thursday: It’s Opening Day of the 2025 regular season for the Astros, who welcome the Mets for a 3 PM start. Space City Home Network starts pregame coverage at 2 PM.
The Rockets hit the road for an 8 PM match against the Jazz. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 7 PM with the pregame show.
Friday: The high school baseball schedule starts at 6 PM with Alvin at Ball, Clear Falls at Clear Creek, Clear Lake at Dickinson, Brazoswood at Clear Springs, and Stafford at La Marque. Clear Brook at Deer Park, Friendswood at Angleton, Hitchcock at Boling, and Texas City at Santa Fe begin at 7 PM.
In high school softball, East Bernard at Hitchcock begins at 5 PM. Sealy at La Marque and HCYA at Santa Fe start at 6 PM. Ball at Texas City, Clear Brook at Clear Springs, Clear Creek at Dickinson, Clear Falls at Deer Park, and La Porte at Friendswood start at 6:30 PM.
The Mets and Astros get the first Apple TV+ Friday Night Baseball game of the season when the two collide at 7:10 PM, giving Space City Home Network a night off.
Saturday: More national TV awaits the Mets and Astros as Fox’s Baseball Night in America kicks off the season with a 6:15 PM matchup.
