653Obviously, the calendar (and temps) tell us it’s August, but Monday will give us a taste of fall as high school football, volleyball and cross-country teams begin their first practices of the 2022-23 school year, with the first volleyball scrimmages coming later in the week. Oh, yeah, there’s also the Astros.
Sunday: July comes to a close as the Astros conclude a weekend set against the Mariners beginning at 1:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start coverage with the pregame show at 12:30pm.
Monday: The 2022-23 high school athletic season makes its debut as football teams that did not hold spring practice along with volleyball and cross-country teams will have their first workouts. The doggie days of August will start with the Astros hosting a struggling Red Sox team that could look completely different as the August 2 trade deadline approaches. No AT&T Sportsnet Southwest tonight as ESPN will have national coverage beginning at 7:00pm.
Tuesday: After a night off, AT&T Sportsnet Southwest returns to action when the Astros continue their series against the Red Sox. The pregame show starts at 6:30pm, with the first pitch slated for 7:10pm.
