Thursday is Leap Day, and the sports schedule is deep enough for local fans to indulge in. The CCISD baseball tournament gets going as seven of the area’s teams will be in action.
Wednesday:
Thursday: The baseball tournament focus will be at the CCISD Tournament, where each of the Clear Creek high schools will be joined by the likes of Friendswood and Texas City. Meanwhile, Dickinson is at the Pasadena Tournament, Galveston Ball participates in the Barbers Hill Varsity Tournament, Hitchcock is at the Anahuac Tournament while Santa Fe heads out to Montgomery to compete in their tourney.
When it comes to softball, Clear Falls, Clear Springs and Santa Fe will be among the teams at the Lamar Consolidated ISD Tournament, with Dickinson playing at the Barbers Hill Varsity Tournament.
The Rockets close out the month of February with a date at the Suns beginning at 8:00pm. Space City Home Network starts coverage at 7:30pm with the pregame show.
Friday: The boys soccer schedule has Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Brazoswood at Clear Falls, Clear Lake at Dickinson, La Porte at Galveston Ball and Texas City at Friendswood. Each match starts at 7:30pm.
On the girls side of the soccer schedule, Clear Springs at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Brazoswood, Dickinson at Clear Lake, Galveston Ball at La Porte and Friendswood at Texas City. Like the boys, the girls’ matches begin at 7:30pm.
The softball slate has Hitchcock at Episcopal at 4:30pm, followed by Clear Lake at Texas City and Galveston Ball at Goose Creek Memorial at 6:00pm.
In track and field, Clear Brook and Dickinson will be at the Bluebonnet Invitational in College Station, while Friendswood, La Marque and Texas City compete at the Gulf Coast Relays in Freeport. Santa Fe will be at the Liberty Invitational.
Saturday: The boys powerlifting regional finals will be held at Bay City High School beginning at 8:00am.
Friendswood’s softball team will play a pair of games at Waller as the Mustangs take on College Station at 11:00am before taking on Waller at 1:00pm.
La Marque’s girls and boys soccer teams are at Columbia. The girls begin at 10:00am while the boys hit the pitch at 12:00pm.
The track and field schedule has Clear Creek at the Klein Cain Relays while Clear Falls and Clear Springs compete at the Will Sirmon Relays in Pearland.
The Rockets open the month of March the same way they ended February: in Phoenix taking on the Suns at 8:00pm. Space City Home Network starts coverage at 7:30pm with the pregame show.
