The Resurrection
As we come upon another Easter Holiday, I would like to take the time to explain to you the true reason for this special day. It isn’t about the Bunny, the Eggs, and
candy, or the pretty clothes we all buy to wear but it is something much more special than all of that. And that something is Jesus. Today is Easter. It is like the Super Bowl of all Sundays for the church. People who have not stepped inside a
church all year go on this day. Some are being dragged in, by Mom and Aunt Susie, some are going because they were invited, and others are going because that is just what we have done all of our lives. You go to church on Easter – simple as that. First let me tell you whatever the reason you are going, I know people are happy to see you. But something happened on that Sunday long ago that changed the world forever. Just to give you a little backdrop, mankind lost his authority in the earth when Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of the Forbidden Fruit. Was it an apple? I don’t know. The Bible just says it was “forbidden”. So God could not find one man in the earth who was without sin. So he came to the earth as a man by way of the Virgin Mary and his son Jesus, who was 100% man, and 100%
God; who was able to take on the sins of the world and bring redemption between man and God the Father. Jesus was crucified on a Friday, which we call Good Friday, was buried, and rose from the grave that Sunday, which we know as Resurrection Sunday. And because of that miracle, we celebrate Easter and everything that Jesus did for us. He paid a penalty that he did not owe. God loved
us so much that he sent his only Son to die on the Cross for me and you to have authority over sickness, poverty, and disease. I don’t really believe people grasp
what actually took place over 2000 years ago for us. As we celebrate this day I think we all need to take time to be thankful for the things that we have around us, the relationships we are a part of , and, quite simply, for life itself. Had Jesus not done what he did for us that day on the Cross, you and I would not be able to walk in His Grace. When you take a look around the world, and see the violence and destruction mankind subjects his fellow man to would we not be completely lost and without hope of any kind? It is Jesus who teaches us to love our enemies. It is Jesus who taught that all things work together for good. So no matter what you may be going through, know that He (Jesus) has already overcome the world. So be of Good Cheer. On this Easter Holiday, be thankful to be able to
celebrate in the land of the living. Be The Change You Want To See.
BE THE CHANGE
