All good — and bad — things must come to an end. Such is the case of the Texans, who will close out the 2021 season against the Titans, who bring in Texas City’s D’Onta Foreman as its feature back. The week continues on Tuesday with a solid slate of high school hoops and soccer.
Sunday: The Texans will end their brutal 2021 regular season when the rival Titans come to NRG Stadium for a 12:00pm kickoff. Houston does have a chance to play the role of spoiler as a win over Tennessee — coupled with a Kansas City victory over Denver on Saturday — would give the Chiefs homefield advantage during the AFC playoffs.
The game will have added interest as Texas City native D’Onta Foreman, who was drafted by the Texans in the third round of the 2017 draft, is expected to start for the Titans. Foreman has been impressive in the role of replacing All-Pro Derrick Henry, rushing for 497 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. KRIV26 will have the game live.
Monday: A week after visiting Philadelphia, the Rockets will have the favor returned when the 76ers come to Toyota Center for their only appearance this year. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have the game live with the pregame show at 6:30pm, followed by the game at 7:00pm.
Tuesday: The high school boys’ basketball schedule will have Van Vleck at state-ranked Hitchcock at 5:00pm, followed by Friendswood at Santa Fe, Galveston Ball at Goose Creek Memorial, state-ranked La Marque at Houston Episcopal and Texas City at La Porte each starting at 7:00pm.
Meanwhile, the girls’ high school hoops slate will have Van Vleck at Hitchcock at 6:30pm, with Friendswood at Santa Fe, Goose Creek Memorial at Galveston Ball, Santa Fe at Friendswood, and La Porte at Texas City at 7:00pm.
In high school boys’ soccer, La Marque at Santa Fe gets underway at 6:00pm. Clear Brook at Alvin, Clear Creek at Pasadena Memorial, Clear Falls at Pearland and Texas City at Galena Park starting at 7:30pm. For the girls’ schedule, Clear Falls at Kingwood Park gets going at 7:00pm, followed by Dickinson at Shadow Creek at 7:30pm.
