Members of the Texas City Police and Fire Departments held an active shooter drill at Showboat Theater on Friday morning. The drill was specifically for EMS operators to hone their skills in case of an emergency situation. Unlike the two previous drills held at La Marque High School, this drill was one of the first to focus on a single unit. The presence of a helicopter, which participated in the drill, did lead to several onlookers who originally thought there was an actual threat in progress. They were assured, however, that all was fine.
