It’s War Time not Give up Time!!

Have you noticed yourself saying “what were they thinking?” They don’t value people’s lives or property. What is this world coming to?  Today, it’s hard to not have these questions because so much is going on. This is not the time to give up and be afraid and forget that God is still in control. I want to remind you that these things don’t catch God off guard. He has given us (the church, the body of Christ) instructions on what to do.

I read something that caught my attention: “Prayer gives heaven permission to invade the earth. With prayer we can pray to heaven down to keep hell from rising.”

Matthew 7: 7 reads “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.” It’s time to put our war clothes on and fight for what we want to see. You say what are the war clothes? Ephesians 6: 10-18 explains to first be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Recognize the fight is a spiritual fight, so stop trying to fight with people. Put on the whole armor of God, which consists of truth, around your waist along with the breastplate of righteousness. Shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Wear a shield of faith, a helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Stop looking at what it looks like. God has and is still turning things around for the better. God has the last word. He is waiting on us to call those things that be not as though they were. This means to speak what we want to see, not what we see. If it’s not easy for you to speak positive, practice it. Do something about what you see going on. Get on your knees and pray to the God that can turn things around. Quote positive things like “I am who God says I am; I can do what God says I can do; I have what God says I have; I am a success and nothing less; When God made me He made the best; I am a dominator therefore I take dominion over that which has been given to me; I am an heir of God and joint heir with Jesus Christ lacking nothing possessing all things; I have the mind of Christ therefore I think like God thinks, talk like God talks, walk like God walks and do like God does; My seed is blessed; The words I speak are spirit and life because I speak only the words of Christ.”

“This is how I fight my battles. It may look like I’m surrounded. But I’m surrounded by You. Nothing is as strong as Your blood. Your blood and Your body has overcome. You’ve already overcome” are lyrics from the song “Surrounded (Fight My Battles)” by Michael W. Smith. The words are saying fight your battles by praising God. It may look like you are surrounded and defeated. But you are surrounded by God.

Don’t give up. Fight by practicing the word, prayer, praise and worship. When we do this on a continual basis, our challenges are manageable. Our part is to give it to God and watch Him take care of it. You may say it’s easier said than done. God calls us to trust and have faith in Him. We’ve tried it our way with not much peace and success.  Work with God not against God.
