With Dickinson eliminated from the state high school football playoffs, the time has come for each of the area’s boys’ teams to begin putting their complete focus on the basketball court. Much of that attention will come on Thursday as several of the area’s teams will be in tournament action across the state.
Wednesday: No games scheduled.
Thursday: Boys’ basketball teams in tourney play include Clear Creek at the HISD Tournament, state-ranked Dickinson at the Cy Hoops Invitational, state-ranked Hitchcock at the Central Heights Tournament, Santa Fe at the Splendora Tournament, and Texas City at the Lake Worth Invitational. Each tournament concludes on Saturday.
One girls’ basketball team will be in tourney play as state-ranked Hitchcock will take part in the Central Heights Tournament.
The Rockets host the Clippers at 7 PM. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 6:30 PM with the pregame show.
Friday: The girls’ basketball schedule starts at 6 PM with Texas City at Clear Springs, followed at 7 PM with Ball at Clear Falls, Angleton at Clear Creek, and Terry at Santa Fe. Friendswood at Baytown Sterling begins at 7:15 PM.
In boys’ basketball, Clear Brook at state-ranked Friendswood, Clear Falls at Travis, and Clear Springs at Houston Memorial begin at 7 PM.
Saturday: Outside of basketball tournament play, there are no games scheduled.
