Astros Open Regular Season Looking to Take Halo From Angels

After an uneven Spring Training, the games begin to count as the 2026 regular season begins on Thursday. They’ll open the season at home against Mike Trout and a revamped Angels squad seeking to be more competitive in the American League West.

Wednesday: In a potential Western Conference playoff preview, the Rockets travel to Minnesota to face the Timberwolves. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 8 PM with the pregame show. The game can also be seen on ESPN.

Thursday: The Astros open the 2026 regular season with a 3:10 PM home date against the Angels. Space City Home Network begins coverage with an extended pregame at 2 PM. The game can also be seen on MLB.tv.

Friday: High school softball: begins at 5 PM with Boling at Hitchcock, followed by Texas City at Ball, Clear Springs at Clear Brook, Dickinson at Clear Creek, Deer Park at Clear Falls, Friendswood at La Porte, Crawford at La Marque, and Texas City at Angleton at 6:30 PM

Meanwhile, the high school baseball slate has Alvin at Ball, Deer Park at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Clear Lake, Angleton at Friendswood, Royal at La Marque, and Santa Fe at Texas City start at 6 PM. Clear Springs at Brazoswood, and Boling at Hitchcock start at 7 PM.

The Rockets face the Grizzlies at 7 PM. Space City Home Network begins coverage from Memphis at 6:30 PM.

Apple TV awaits the Astros and Angels as they face off on the network’s first Friday Night Baseball broadcast. The game begins at 7:10 PM. 

Saturday: Opening weekend continues for the Angels and Astros with a 6:10 PM start. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 5:30 PM with the pregame show.
