Tuscan Village Celebrates Local Artists
Today we would like to introduce you to Linda Cooke, Owner of LJCreations. She is a return vendor to our Third Annual Artisan and Home Décor Market. This year’s market will be held on September 28, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at The Village of Tuscan Lakes, The Club, 1610 Tuscan Village Drive, League City, TX 77573
Linda Cooke has been a craft vendor for over 12 years. She got started when her daughter was in elementary school and needed an outlet for her 5th grade math pillow project and her knitted stocking caps. While the pillows and hats disappeared when her daughter found other things to do, the crafting bug stayed with Linda. She bought an embroidery machine and was soon making things for friends and family. A fused glass class ten years ago got her interested in that artistic medium. Since then, she’s continued to look for new ways to expand on these two entirely different crafts, and her business LJCreations was born to reflect this.
LJCreations has a delightful variety of gift items for everyone on your list. You will find whimsical embroidered kitchen and fingertip towels. The artistic handmade fused glass plates and bowls are functional art you can use or display. The etched glass banks are a fun way to start saving for something special. The glass Christmas ornaments will make you smile. And the ribbon and cloth ornaments bring back memories of Christmases past.
You won’t want to miss this booth for all of the people on your shopping list or better yet, a little something for you. We will have 4 food trucks with a food court for your shopping convenience. This is FREE to the public, FREE parking and FREE courtesy shuttle to the front door and back to your car with your items by our golf cart brigade.
We are also proud to announce that Leigh Baxter, Owner of the Gift Guru will once again be our vendor at The Third Annual Artisan and Home Décor Market, September 28, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at The Club, 1610 Tuscan Village Drive, League City, TX 77573
Silver plate silverware, what do you do with it? It is so beautifully made and detailed. Most give it away! Having family in Alabama, this Texan girl appreciated meals using these lovely pieces. How can others enjoy this masterpiece of history? Well, she decided to repurpose it and wear it, instead of store it or worse, give it away! Hello, I am a wife, mother, and a (Texas Tech) Red Raider of Interior Design. Loving the beauty of each piece of silverware, I transform it (with my awesome husband) into creations that are wearable art, or jewelry. Sometimes, the silver patterns are too unique to chop on and they become hand stamped (with a hammer) and left for whimsical serve ware. Each piece becomes special, and I love deciding what will make it shine at its best. The hunt for such beauties is half of the fun. My pieces come from all over! Some are perfect, and some show the road they have traveled with their rough character. Anyway, enjoy your finds with me, the Gift Guru. I aim to give you the perfect gift to give to those you love. And, yes, I can make your grandma’s pieces into gifts for your family.

Gigglemug Crafts
was founded in October 2015 by Jennet Cartlidge, what was once a hobby making gifts for family and friends has now extended far beyond into cute and quirky original designs. She finds inspiration out of everyday environments and objects, for example my love of being on the beach has developed into crafting out of materials I find on the local Galveston beaches, such as driftwood. She creates minimalistic but effective designs while also re-purposing as much material as she can find, such as natural and vintage. All of the materials that are used are of the highest quality, the buttons are all mother of pearl, and the felt is 100% wool that I buy from a lady in Nepal. She searches high and low for all sorts of unique materials in order to create her handmade designs. She never has a set plan when designing, it’s when she sees a fabric or material that then she automatically has designs flooding her mind. She loves what she does and she finds joy in creating all of her designs, we hope you do too.
