The library is happy to announce that the current building will be undergoing a renovation this fall! You asked for more group study areas, comfier furniture for reading, and more areas to charge your electronics and we heard you!

In August, the library will begin renovations to create a new library experience for users. Upon entering, the library’s entryway will be transformed into a lounge area equipped with comfortable seating and vending machines for food and drinks.

To the left of this area, the children’s section will include and interactive area for our youngest users. We will be adding two small study rooms for  individuals to reserve.

The local history room will be split in half to accommodate group study areas equipped with technology enabling audio visual presentations in the library’s interior, the bookshelves will be arranged, and more seating will be added. In order to prepare for the renovation, the library has undergone a massive weeding effort to downsize or physical collection so that we can better utilize the space we have.

During the months project the library will likely be closed to users. But not to worry, library services will be moved off-site and may be limited during this time. “ Have you been to Rosenberg Library or any of the other Galveston County libraries?  Keep them in mind as Moore Memorial Library will be closing August 3 for renovations.
