On Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Texas
City Police Department and the Drug Enforcement
Administration will give the public its 15th opportunity in
7 years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their
homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and
unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal
to Texas City Police Department at 1004 9th Avenue N,
Texas City, TX 77590. (The DEA cannot accept liquids
or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) However,
there will be portable bags one can use to dispose of
liquids available while supplies last. The service is free
and anonymous, no questions asked.
Sites throughout Galveston and Harris counties will be
open Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Galveston
PD, Texas City PD, Dickinson PD, League City and
Kemah PD’s. Dropping of unused and old prescriptions
keeps them out of our water source and out of the hands
of those who might unknowingly or unwisely consume
them.
