A PAIR OF Galveston County high school football standouts will begin their 2019 honing their craft among the nation’s top players of the Class of 2020 prior to the annual Under Armour All-America game on Thursday night. Clear Creek offensive lineman Chad Lindberg and Galveston Ball running back Clarence Dalton were among the juniors chosen to participate during the lead up to the contest, which will be aired live on ESPN2 beginning at 5:00pm. Lindberg was invited to the Future 50 Underclassman Camp and will work out with the chance to receive an invite to play in next year’s game. The 6’6, 306-pound Lindberg was named to the District 24-6A first team offense for a second straight season and is ranked as a four-star performer by 247Sports.com. He has received 36 offers that includes the likes of Texas, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Dalton, the 10-5A-1 offensive player of the year, was invited to the Under Armour All-America Camp Series, which will give him an opportunity to showcase his talent under the watchful eyes of major media outlets while also getting to be critiqued by former NFL coaches and players. Among the leading rushers in the greater Houston area this past season, Dalton, who ran for 1,337 yards, has an offer from Southern Methodist. Friendswood junior Christian Lee was recently selected to play with the EPS Blaze national 7-on-7 team. The Blaze is one of the nation’s top teams, having earned top 4 finishes in both 2016 and 2017 at the prestigious Pylon Nationals. Lee comes off a 2018 season that saw him catch 37 passes for 569 yards and five touchdowns. He is moving rapidly in the eyes of college recruiters, who project him to play either tight end or wide receiver.
