
The weather is perfect for baseball and softball, which will dominate the end of the week. There’s also plenty of track and field, especially with the Hanna Gator Relays in Dickinson, along with a helping of golf and tennis.
Wednesday: Pending the results of Monday’s game against the Raptors, the Rockets could be dealing with a 21-game losing streak when the Hornets visit Toyota Center to conclude a seven-game homestand. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage at 6:30pm, leading into the game itself at 7:00pm.
Thursday: Dickinson High School plays host to the Hanna Gator Relays at Sam Vitanza Stadium, a track and field meet that will also see the likes of Clear Brook, Clear Creek and La Marque. Meanwhile, the Clear Falls girls’ track and field team will be among those at Clear Springs for the Chargers Relays.
The Texas City boys’ golf team will be at Eagle Golf Course for a meet hosted by Barbers Hill. The day is also highlighted by the 24-6A district preview that will be held at Gleannoch Pines Golf Course in Spring.
Friday: A busy high school baseball schedule will have Clear Brook at Dickinson, Clear Creek at Clear Lake, Clear Springs at Brazoswood, Goose Creek Memorial at Galveston Ball, Brazosport at La Marque and La Porte at Texas City each starting at 6:00pm. Friendswood at Santa Fe and Hempstead at Hitchcock each start at 7:00pm.
The high school softball schedule begins at 5:00pm with Hitchcock at Hempstead, followed by Clear Lake at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Dickinson, Friendswood at Santa Fe and Texas City at La Porte at 6:30pm. Clear Creek at Brazoswood begins at 7:00pm.
In high school tennis, Texas City will be at the Beachcomber Classic at La Porte beginning at 8:30am. Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Falls and Clear Springs will each be at the Kemah Boardwalk Invitational.
The Rockets will be truly feeling Minnesota as they visit the Timberwolves for the first of back-to-back contests with their fellow Western Conference bottom dwellers. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage with the pregame show at 6:30pm, with the game starting at 7:00pm.
