The Wednesday-Saturday portion of the District 24-6A basketball schedule is a boon as it provides area fans two extra days of hoops throughout the month. Not to be overshadowed, though, is the CCISD boys’ soccer tournament that will be a showcase for some of the area’s top teams.
Wednesday: The boys’ high school basketball schedule has Clear Creek at Clear Falls, and state-ranked Dickinson at Clear Springs beginning at 7:00pm. The girls’ hoops slate has Clear Springs at Dickinson and Clear Falls at Clear Creek also starting at 7:00pm.
Galveston Ball at Texas City is a make-up girls’ basketball game that starts at 7:00pm.
The Rockets open a three-game road trip with a visit to the Spurs beginning at 7:30pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have coverage starting at 7:00pm with the pregame show.
Thursday: CCISD hosts its annual boys’ soccer tournament, with Friendswood joining Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Falls, Clear Lake and Clear Springs for the three-day event. Texas City’s boys’ head off to Dayton for the DISD Tournament.
In girls’ soccer, Clear Creek is at the Leander Tournament, while Clear Falls, Clear Springs and Santa Fe are at the Katy I-10 Tournament. Friendswood travels to take part in the Bryan ISD Tournament.
Friday: A busy Friday of boys’ high school hoops has state-ranked Dickinson at East Bernard at 5:00pm, followed by Sweeny at state-ranked La Marque at 6:30pm. Friendswood at Texas City (game will be broadcast on Victory Sports Net), La Porte at Galveston Ball, and Baytown Lee at Santa Fe each start at 7:00pm.
The girls’ high school basketball schedule has La Marque at Sweeny at 5:30pm, followed by Hitchcock at East Bernard at 6:30pm. Texas City at Friendswood, La Porte at Galveston Ball and Santa Fe at Baytown Lee each start at 7:00pm.
The one match on the area soccer schedule has La Marque at Pasadena High beginning at 4:00pm.
In the first of two weekend meetings, the Rockets take on the Kings starting at 9:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins at 8:30pm with the pregame show.
