SYNERGY HomeCare, the nation’s fastest-growing in-home care franchise and an Entrepreneur 500-ranked enterprise, has announced its newest franchise in southern-coastal Texas, SYNERGY HomeCare of Texas City.
The company is led by Alex and Christina Hernandez, a husband-and-wife duo who have ample experience taking care of others.
Headquartered at 2501 Palmer Hwy Suite 205B in Texas City, Texas, the company assists residents living in Galveston, Santa Fe, Tiki Island, La Marque, Bayou Vista, and Hitchcock with a wide variety of non-medical care options, from companion care to personal care and respite care.
Alex and Christina recognized the growing need in their communities for these services, particularly among Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over the age of 65. According to the AARP, over 90% of this demographic reports they want to remain in their own home for as long as possible.
After receiving her nursing degrees at UTHealth and UTMB Galveston School of Nursing, Christina has been a nurse for almost 10 years, working in the Texas Medical Center as an ICU RN. Alex was a Plant Manager/Supervisor after receiving his associate degree at the College of the Mainland in Texas City. Both Alex and Christina have had to care for family members with chronic illnesses. Christina’s father was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2021, and she has been the main caregiver for him. Alex’s uncle was diagnosed with bile duct cancer, and he was the main caregiver, providing aid, support, and transportation.
“Our overall goal is to provide quality and compassionate care to our clients,” says Alex.
“Since we bring professional and personal experience to our agency, we can create opportunities for others while establishing ourselves as trusted resources for families in our community,” says Christina.
Texas City is home to many retirees and attracts many visitors due to its growing population. Many of these clients need to rely on caregivers for assistance cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping, or going for walks. Some even require personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing, or using the toilet.
SYNERGY HomeCare of Texas City is currently looking to add to its team of diverse caregivers. While licensed Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are ideal candidates, Alex and Christina will provide training and certification to anyone looking to enter the field of caregiving. Caring, compassionate people with a reverence for older adults are invited to apply by visiting their website or calling (346) 299-5597.
SYNERGY HomeCare offers competitive hourly rates in addition to flexible shifts perfect for both college students or recent graduates as well as people who are retired and looking to stay active.
