SAVE THE DATE: TUESDAY’S SPORTS SCHEDULE IS GOING TO BE BUSY

WITH SCHOOL back in session, Tuesday returns to its loaded schedule for high
school sports while the Rockets bounce from Minnesota to Portland for a pair of
high profile games.
TODAY, SUNDAY: The weekend comes to an end with the Rockets visiting the
Timberwolves beginning at 6:00pm. Sporting the best record in the NBA, Houston
entered the weekend with 20 wins in their 21 games prior to Saturday’s game at
New Orleans. The Rockets have won both meeting against the Timberwolves this
season with a 116-98 win at Toyota Center on January 18 and a 126-108 victory in
Minnesota on February 13. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start its pregame show
at 6:30pm.
TOMORROW, MONDAY: Much of the day’s sports schedule w ill b e filled with a
variety of subvarsity baseball games that will include a 4:30pm tilt between the
sophomore teams of Galveston Ball and Texas City, with the Stings playing the role
of host.
TUESDAY: The final week of the soccer regular season gets underway on the boys’
side with Fort Bend Elkins at Galveston Ball starting at 7:00pm and Texas City at
Fort Bend Marshall beginning at 7:10pm. Clear Brook at Alvin, Clear Lake at Clear
Creek, Friendswood at Clear Springs, Clear Falls at Dickinson and Santa Fe at
Manvel each start at 7:30pm.
In girls’ soccer, Galveston Ball at Fort Bend Elkins starts at 7:00pm with Fort Bend
Marshall at Texas City kicking off at 7:10pm. Alvin at Clear Brook, Dickinson at
Clear Falls, Clear Creek at Clear Lake, Clear Springs at Friendswood and Manvel
at Santa Fe are each 7:30pm kickoffs.
The baseball docket will have Hitchcock at Brazos and La Marque at Rice Consolidated
at 6:00pm. Clear Springs at Alvin, Clear Brook at Clear Creek, Friendswood
at Clear Falls, Clear Lake at Dickinson, Fort Bend Willowridge at Galveston Ball
and Galena Park at Texas City each begin at 7:00pm.
Softball action starts at 6:00pm with La Marque at Rice Consolidated. Clear Falls
at Alvin, Dickinson at Clear Creek, Friendswood at Clear Lake, Fort Bend Marshall
at Galveston Ball, Texas City at Manvel and Santa Fe at Shadow Creek each start
at 6:30pm.
The Rockets continue their cross-country road trip with a visit to the Trail Blazers
starting at 9:30pm. Houston won in its previous trip to Portland on December 9 with
a 124-117 decision and defeated the Blazers 121-112 in Houston on January 10.
TNT and AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will each air the game, with the latter starting
its pregame coverage at 9:00pm.
