Hot Dog! The Astros (and Nolan Ryan Beef) are back in town

THE BEST PART OF the new week is Tuesday’s game against the Pirates that not only is it the start of a new home stand, but it’s also a night to take as many $1 bills as possible to Minute Maid Park and indulge on Nolan Ryan Beef Hot Dogs.
Sunday: The Astros conclude a four-game series and week-long road trip when they face the Yankees at 1:05pm. Justin Verlander (9-3, 2.59 ERA) gets the nod for Houston and will be opposed by New York’s J.A. Happ (7-3, 4.59 ERA). AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have the game live following the pregame show at 12:30pm.
Monday: Area fans in need of a high school football fix can visit Stingaree Stadium, where Texas City, La Marque, Santa Fe and Hitchcock High Schools will play 7on7 football from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. It is the third consecutive summer the four schools have come together for a month-long Monday night tune-up, giving local fans a taste of what to expect when the games begin counting for real on August 30.
Tuesday: Gerrit Cole (6-5, 3.54 ERA) faces his old Pirates teammates when the Astros return home to open a three-game series against Pittsburgh, who will go with Trevor Williams (2-1, 4.12 ERA). AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have the game live beginning with the pregame show at 6:30pm, leading into the first pitch at 7:10pm. If it’s Tuesday, then it’s $1 Dog Night Presented by Nolan Ryan Beef. Fans can stuff themselves with unlimited hot dogs and all the trimmings throughout the game.
