CLEAR BROOK, CLEAR Springs and Dickinson were unable to deliver success at the adidas Texas 7on7 State Championships last week as each team could not advance into Saturday’s championship bracket.
Playing out of Pool C, Clear Brook finished 1-2, defeating Port Neches-Groves 20-13 in between losses to Hutto (32-12) and Southlake Carroll (48-20). Clear Springs fared worse, finishing 0-3, but the Chargers suffered a pair of one-point losses to Cedar Hill (21-20) and Beaumont West Brook (45-44) before falling to Austin Lake Travis 35-25 in the Pool F finale.
Dickinson won its Pool I opener, a 25-12 decision over Eisenhower but lost to Denton Guyer 48-33 and Vista Ridge 39-33. The Gators’ run in College Station ended on Saturday morning with a 27-26 loss to Tyler John Tyler in the opening round of consolation play.
Both Clear Brook and Clear Springs advanced to the quarterfinals of the consolation field. The Wolverines topped Heath 38-26 before bowing out to Midway by a score of 42-32. Clear Springs toppled Coppell 34-13 but a 27-26 to Veterans ended their run.
A&M Consolidated won the Division I championship after outlasting Southlake Carroll 37-31.
Sunnyvale captured the Division II title, while Poth claimed the Division III championship.
