THE WEATHER IS EXPECTED to be mild and sunny on Sunday, but it’s going to be hard not to go outside with three big games on the slate, highlighted by Game 2 of the American League Championship Series between the Astros and Yankees. The series moves to New York for Game 3 on a Tuesday that also includes a busy night of high school volleyball.
Sunday: Two of the NFL’s premier young quarterbacks square off in what could be an offensive masterpiece as the Texans’ Deshaun Watson and the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes meet in Kansas City with a 12:00pm kickoff. The two have combined to throw 22 touchdown passes with only one interception between them. KHOU 11 will have the game live.
Cowboys fans are banking their team can snap a two-game losing streak when they visit the struggling Jets at 3:25pm. Those watching Chiefs-Texans won’t have to flip off KHOU 11, as Cowboys-Jets comes on right after the conclusion of Houston-Kansas City.
Consider football the appetizer to the main dish: Game 2 of the American League Championship Series between the Yankees and Astros. Minute Maid Park will be rocking when FS1 begins coverage of the highly-anticipated series at 7:08pm. Pitching matchups have not been announced.
Monday: No varsity, college or professional sports are on the day’s sports schedule.
Tuesday: The high school volleyball schedule begins with La Marque at Columbia at 5:30pm, followed by Hitchcock at Boling, Clear Brook at Clear Springs, Alvin at Clear Creek and Dickinson at Clear Falls at 6:00pm. Santa Fe at Baytown Lee, Galena Park at Friendswood, Crosby at Galveston Ball and Texas City at Goose Creek Memorial will each begin their matches at 6:30pm.
Boys golf will be in swing at Moody Gardens as Galveston Ball plays host to an event.
