THERE’S NOT MUCH TO ADD than to say this weekend is pretty busy.

Wednesday: High school wrestling is on the agenda with Clear Falls hosting Brazoswood and Terry in a tri-meet while Clear Springs welcomes Klein Collins and Katy for a tri-meet. Both will begin at 5:00pm.

The Rockets open a two-game road swing with a visit to the Hawks starting at 6:30pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage with the pregame show at 6:00pm.

Thursday: The highlight of the boys’ soccer schedule will be the CCISD Tournament that will see Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Falls, Clear Springs, Dickinson and Friendswood among the teams participating in the three-day event. Santa Fe will take part in the Brenham Tournament while Texas City heads out to compete in the Dayton Tournament.

Likewise, the girls’ soccer schedule will be heavy on tournament play. Clear Brook, Clear Springs and Santa Fe are each at the I-10 Shootout in Katy. Clear Creek is at the Leander Tournament, while Dickinson is at the Columbia Tournament. Friendswood will be at the Tournament in Dripping Springs.

It will be a festive mood at the Clear Creek High School pool as the Wildcats host the annual Mardi Gras Meet. Clear Brook, Clear Falls, Clear Springs and Friendswood are among the teams participating in the three-day swimming and diving event.

If the day wasn’t busy enough, there’s also the Rockets visiting the Thunder in a nationally televised game starting at 7:00pm. TNT will have the national feed, with AT&T Sportsnet Southwest beginning its coverage with the pregame show at 6:30pm.

There’s high school wrestling on the slate, with Friendswood hosting Clear Brook at 5:00pm.

Friday: A busy night of high school boys’ basketball starts at 7:00pm with state-ranked Dickinson at Clear Brook, Clear Lake at Clear Falls, Alvin at Clear Springs, Galveston Ball at Crosby, Friendswood at Galena Park, Baytown Lee at Santa Fe and Goose Creek Memorial at Texas City. Tidehaven at Hitchcock closes out the slate at 7:30pm.

The girls’ high school basketball schedule begins with Tidehaven at state-ranked Hitchcock at 6:15pm followed by Bay City at La Marque at 6:30pm. Clear Springs at Alvin, Santa Fe at Baytown Lee, Memorial at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Clear Lake, Clear Brook at Dickinson, Galena Park at Friendswood, Crosby at Galveston Ball and Texas City at Goose Creek Memorial are each 7:00pm starts.

The only non-tourney boys’ high school soccer match has Galveston Ball at Pasadena at 7:30pm. A pair of non-tourney girls’ high school soccer matches will see Angleton at Galveston Ball and Waltrip at Texas City each starting at 7:30pm.

Saturday: The high school wrestling schedule has Clear Brook at Seven Lakes, Clear Falls at the Spartan Invitational starting at 8:30pm, Clear Creek and Clear Springs are at Brazoswood beginning at 9:00am.

The 2020 powerlifting season gets underway with Dickinson hosting a meet that will include La Marque and a number of other schools.

The Rockets return home for an early start as they face the Timberwolves at 4:00pm. Coverage starts at 3:30pm with the pregame show on AT&T Sportsnet Southwest.
