My Favorite Things

It is hard to turn on the television or even be on the Internet right now. Everywhere we look, listen to or read about, there is turmoil, pain and illness. My social media is constantly filled with political items. Sometimes, some of it can appear to almost fall into the bullying category. I go to my social network to escape the bad news that is constantly exploding from my news sources. I want to visit with and enjoy the friends and family that I love. I want to see their photographs and catch up on how their children and grandchildren are doing. I want to read their funny stories and laugh with them for a little while. I want to rejoice with the exciting things that happen. I want to share in their sadness if something has hurt them or broken their hearts, and I want to know when they have a prayer request. I know there is going to be some sharing of world events that will be there, but I truly hope that it will not totally consume what I see. So, for now, I just want to let you know what is important to me. I thrive on positive thoughts.  I want to find the things that make my heart smile. I know the negative things will come, and that there will be some dark days. That’s just life. In the meantime, I think I will look for some joy and some of my favorite things!
