THE FIRST PART OF THE week has boys’ and girls’ basketball sandwiched between games involving the Texans and Cowboys, the latter who will be playing on Tuesday night after coronavirus issues forced the NFL to rearrage its schedule.
Sunday: The Texans welcome the Colts to NRG Stadium in a clash of AFC South rivals. Indianapolis, with Texas City native Chris Ballard as general manager, are in the thick of the playoff chase while Houston will have to contend with the loss of receiver Will Fuller, who was suspended for the remainder of the season after violating the league’s performance enhancement policy. KHOU-11 will have the game live at 12:00pm.
Monday: Clear Creek plays host to a high school girls’ golf meet at Bay Oaks County Club, a meet that will also include the likes of Clear Springs and Texas City.
Tuesday: The boys’ high school basketball schedule starts with Clear Brook at Kingwood, Cy Fair at Clear Springs, Friendswood at Galveston Ball, La Marque at Pearland Dawson, Manvel at Santa Fe and Baytown Lee at Texas City each tipping off at 7:00pm. State-ranked Clear Falls hosts Langham Creek at 7:30pm.
Meanwhile, the girls’ high school hoops slate begins with Texas City at Baytown Lee at 5:45pm, followed by state-ranked Hitchcock at Columbia at 6:15pm. La Marque at Channelview tips off at 6:30pm, with Katy at Clear Brook, Pearland at Clear Creek, Clear Springs at Deer Park, Galveston Ball at Friendswood and Santa Fe at Manvel all starting at 7:00pm.
Despite a 3-8 record, the Cowboys are still very much in the hunt for the NFC East title. A win over at the Ravens would go a long way toward inching closer, one that Dallas will pursue at 7:05pm. Both KRIV-26 and NFL Network will have the game live.
