THERE MIGHT BE SNOW in the area on Sunday. However, there will be a host of boys’ high school basketball and soccer contests on Tuesday, so if Mother Nature denies us the white stuff, pay her back by embracing the cold and watching high school sports.

Sunday: The Rockets get a double dose of LeBron James and the defending World Champion Lakers when they visit Toyota Center for a 6:00pm tip. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have the game live beginning with the pregame show at 5:30pm.

Monday: The one event on the schedule will have South Houston at Clear Creek in a high school boys’ soccer match beginning at 7:30pm.

Tuesday: In boys’ high school basketball, state-ranked Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Clear Falls, Texas City at Friendswood, Galveston Ball at La Porte and Santa Fe at Baytown Lee each get underway at 7:00pm, followed by East Bernard at Hitchcock at 7:30pm.

In the only girls’ high school basketball game of the evening, East Bernard visits state-ranked Hitchcock at 6:00pm.

The boys’ high school soccer schedule will have Clear Brook at Milby beginning at 4:00pm, with Houston Northside at Texas City at 5:30pm. Liberty at Galveston Ball starts at 6:30pm, followed by Santa Fe at Pasadena Memorial at 7:00pm and Katy at Clear Springs at 7:30pm.

The girls’ high school soccer slate has Galveston Ball at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Texas City and Santa Fe at Dulles. Each match begins at 7:30pm.

Houston concludes its home-home series against the Lakers beginning at 7:00pm. The game will be televised by both AT&T Sportsnet Southwest (pregame starting at 6:30pm) and NBATV.
