
Bolivar: GOOD. 77 degrees. Fishing has been great this past week. Many reports of bull redfish, flounder, redfish, and jackfish. Most catches are coming with live finger mullet, fresh cut bait, or squid. Get your final flounder fix in as the catching season closes November 1-December 14.
Trinity Bay: GOOD. 76 degrees. Birds are working in the upper reaches of the bay. Mostly a mix of undersized speckled trout and sand trout. Occasionally, a few keeper trout under the birds. Redfish action is good, along with rock structure and oyster reefs.
East Galveston Bay: FAIR. 77 degrees. Tons of undersized speckled trout in the bay. Waders are catching better quality trout, along with redfish and flounder. Get your final flounder fix in as the catching season closes November 1-December 14.
Galveston Bay: GOOD. 79 degrees. The wells are producing good catches of sand trout, black drum, even some bull reds. The shoreline around Eagle Point holds some nice trout and a few redfish. Bull redaction is excellent. Anglers using live croakers and fresh dead shad fished on the bottom.
West Galveston Bay: GOOD. 77 degrees. Speckled trout are good with lots of schools out there. Drift with soft plastics and live shrimp. Wade fishing is proving to be the most successful. Few keeper redfish in the bay, along with some decent catches of flounder. Get your final flounder fix in as the catching season closes November 1-December 14.
Texas City: GOOD. 76 degrees. The fishing report remains the same for those Texas slams, flounder, speckled trout, slot redfish, fish in the bay using artificials, and live shrimp.
Freeport: GOOD. 79 degrees. The flounder are moving after the recent cold front. Redfish are schooling and feeding up like crazy. Reports of redfish anywhere from 26-32 inches. Chase the bird action to find schools of fish. Catch fish on gulp shrimp under a popping cork.
East Matagorda Bay: GOOD. 80 degrees. The shrimp migration continues, and the fishing is good. Follow the bird activity for schooling fish. Drifting or wade fishing for redfish and flounder using artificials or live shrimp. Wade fishing the drains for flounder. Flounder fishing closes November 1-December 14. The Colorado River is fresh after the recent rains but should return to emerald green in a few weeks.
West Matagorda Bay: GOOD. 80 degrees. The shrimp migration continues, and the fishing is good. Follow the bird activity for schooling fish. Drifting or wade fishing for redfish and flounder using artificials or live shrimp. Wade fishing the drains for flounder. Flounder fishing closes November 1-December 14.
Port O’Connor: GOOD. 82 degrees. Fishing is consistent right now. Bull redfish are biting on sardines and live piggy perch over by the jetty. They are coming to spawn, and their increased numbers have pushed trout into the bay system. Trout are slow. Black drum are good on dead shrimp. A few 5-20 pound tarpon are biting using live croaker.
