
Texas City’s D’Onta Foreman will get the chance to move one step closer to the Super Bowl as he and the Titans host an AFC Divisional Playoff Game. The week will also see two of the area’s state-ranked boys’ basketball teams in action along with a taste of powerlifting involving teams from Santa Fe and Texas City.
Sunday: Locals will get the chance to see Texas City’s D’Onta Foreman in his first NFL playoff game as the Titans host the Bengals in an AFC Divisional Round game at 3:30pm. Foreman appeared in nine games after Tennessee lost All-Pro running back Derrick Henry, finishing the season with 566 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 133 carries while adding nine receptions for 123 yards. KHOU11 will have the game live.
The Titans also have former Clear Springs receiver Marcus Johnon, but he is currently on the team’s injured reserve list. Johnson had nine receptions for 160 yards in the seven games he played for Tennessee in the regular season.
Monday: No high school or professional teams are on the slate.
Tuesday: The boys’ high school basketball schedule will have state-ranked Hitchcock at Boling at 5:00pm, followed by Columbia at state-ranked La Marque at 6:30pm (game will be broadcast live on Victory Sports Network). Friendswood at La Porte, Manvel at Galveston Ball, and Baytown Sterling at Texas City are each 7:00pm starts.
Meanwhile, the girls’ high school basketball docket has La Marque at Columbia at 5:30pm, followed by Boling at Hitchcock at 6:30pm. Galveston Ball at Friendswood, La Porte at Friendswood and Sterling starts at 7:00pm.
In boys’ high school soccer, Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Dickinson, La Porte at Friendswood, Galveston Ball at Manvel, Anahuac at La Marque and Texas City at Baytown Sterling each begin at 7:30pm.
The girls’ high school soccer slate has Anahuac at La Marque at 5:30pm, followed by Clear Lake at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Brazoswood, Dickinson at Clear Falls, Friendswood at La Porte, Manvel at Galveston Ball and Baytown Sterling at Texas City at 7:30pm.
Both the girls’ powerlifting teams of Santa Fe and Texas City will take part in a meet that is hosted by Pearland.
The Rockets return from a lengthy west coast road trip as they take on the Spurs beginning at 7:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start coverage with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
