Really? Are we about to hit March? Yup. Time flies, yet there is plenty of sports to have with the girls’ regional powerlifting finals in Angleton. The new month also begins with the usual Tuesday of soccer, softball and baseball.
Sunday: Nationally-ranked Houston will look to move one step closer to clinching the American Athletic Conference men’s basketball regular season title when the 14th-ranked Cougars host SMU for an 11:30am tip. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN.
The Rockets face the Clippers for the first of consecutive games at Toyota Center beginning at 6:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage at 5:30pm with the pregame show.
Monday: Golf dominates the day, with Texas City’s boys’ teams among those at Timber Creek Country Club in a meet hosted by Clear Brook. Hitchcock heads to Clear Creek Golf Course for a meet that is hosted by Pearland, while the Texas City girls compete at Bay Oaks Country Club in a meet that’s hosted by Clear Lake.
Tuesday: Highlighting the day is the girls’ powerlifting Regional finals at Alvin High School beginning at 4:00pm.
The boys’ high school soccer schedule has Liberty at La Marque at 7:00pm, followed by Clear Creek at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Clear Springs, Friendswood at Clear Lake (Challenger Stadium), Galveston Ball at Baytown Sterling and Texas City at Santa Fe each starting at 7:30pm.

A light high school baseball schedule has La Marque at Pasadena Sam Rayburn at 4:30pm, with Clear Springs at Pearland and Texas City at Bay Area Christian starting at 6:00pm. Pasadena Memorial at Clear Creek beginning at 7:00pm.
