Forget the Future, Now Might Be the Rockets’ Time

Once regarded as just playing out the string, the Rockets entered the week within striking distance of earning the final spot in the NBA play-in. Houston will open the week facing the Trail Blazers at home on Monday night.

Sunday: Barring the unforeseen, the University of Houston men’s basketball team will face the winner of Friday’s Nebraska-Texas A&M matchup in the Round of 32. The top seed in the South, Houston played 16th-seed Longwood on Friday night. Gametime and television for the matchup will be announced on Saturday.

Monday: A blistering hot Rockets team, which had won seven straight entering Saturday’s game against the Jazz, will look to continue their recent run when the Trail Blazers visit Toyota Center for a 7:00 pm matchup. Space City Home Network will begin coverage at 6:30 pm with the pregame show.

Tuesday: High school baseball gets going at 6:00 pm with Clear Lake at Clear Brook, Santa Fe at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Dickinson, Brazoswood at Clear Springs, Galveston Ball at Manvel and Bay City at La Marque. East Bernard at Hitchcock and Friendswood at Texas City each start at 7:00 pm.

In high school softball, Bay City at La Marque begins at 6:00pm, followed by Clear Brook at Dickinson, Clear Creek at Clear Falls, La Porte at Friendswood, Legacy School of Sports Sciences at Galveston Ball and Manvel at Santa Fe each starting at 6:30pm.
