Years ago, a co-worker of mine was trying to download an attachment to her computer but it did not have the software support to open it.
Immediately, I spoke up and said that mine did and asked her to send it to me. There were some doubts from others nearby whether I could open it or not.
After several attempts I received messages stating that I did not have the support in my system to open this file. But, with stubbornness, (some boastful pride), and determination, I spent several more minutes trying to locate the right program.
Then I remembered, I REALLY didn’t have that particular software in my computer. So, I stopped trying to open it. In fact, no one’s computer had that capability in our office.
Then the Lord downloaded a message in my heart. If we are trying to accomplish something on our own, without the promises of God, or His support, even if it’s for a good reason, the end results will not bring us joy.
Yet, as a Christian, if you KNOW you have the capability with the promises of God, and that His support and provisions have already been downloaded into you thru His Holy Spirit, then you will keep attempting to receive it. You will have the faith, and belief and motivation, to keep going!
No matter how many naysayers you encounter, you WILL not give up! Because you will know it in your heart first. You will say, “I KNOW I have it because Jesus loves me, and my Father has already provided it for me in His foreknowledge of my needs.
His word is working in me!”
Now, some Christians (because of past experiences/teachings) will say, “It won’t work for me. I’ve tried but I guess God just doesn’t want to heal me, (or prosper me etc.).” But that is not the truth. Without putting any condemnation on anyone here. God is NO respecter of persons, (Acts 10:34), meaning He doesn’t have favorites among His children because it’s the same spirit of Christ inside each one of us who is the Giver of life.
And we each have been given the same “measure” or proportion of “His” faith inside of us. (Romans 12:3)
A fruit of His spirit deposited inside of each of His children.
” … as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:3-4
The Word of God is the “software” given/provided by/downloaded in love to open up the flow of His life inside of us, to heal our souls, bodies, finances, relationships, marriages, etc., … and to help others to thrive, grow in their relationship in Him, and spread this Gospel/good news throughout the world to all who will believe.
When the Lord says that we are a “new creature, old things have passed away and all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) He is explaining that our old sin nature is gone, and His sinless nature is placed inside of us. It is our spirit that has become brand new, and His word is the seed (software) that is our responsibility to plant into our minds, so it can take root in our hearts and grow. We can begin to experience the “abundant life” that Jesus came to bring us in this life. (John 10;10)
We already have it, but some people haven’t received this message, or refuse to believe it, or didn’t know how to activate or release it into their lives.
Neither did I, without the baptism of the Holy Spirit (with the evidence of speaking in tongues). The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, (Jesus not in bodily form) who brings relationship to life through His word, and instructs/empowers us to understand how the word works in our lives. He helps us to receive and walk in God’s precious promises.
When I use to smoke (32 years- over a pack/day) I had never heard this before. I was born again in 1996, but I did not hear the full message of the Gospel until 2007.
That is when I decided to ask/receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and chose to take hold of these truths. I became determined to pursue the promises of God, because for the first time, I began to gain a better understanding of His love for me. An intimacy between Jesus living in me began to grow as I became more familiar with Him through His word.
Now there was nothing in the natural that looked like I had this power available to me to quit smoking. But I did have the word of God (His promises), and with the love of God from His word, and hearing testimonies, this motivated me to dig in. I took these seeds by faith (healing scriptures-verses declaring His righteousness inside of me), and I began to re-new my mind (re-program my old way of thinking), and after several months I was completely delivered from that stronghold!! (Jan. 11, 2009)
(No side effects, no medications, no weight gain/lost 9 lbs., lungs/body instantly healed, never wanted another cigarette. I was as if I never smoked.)
This is just one example that “old things had passed away and all things had been made new,” in the life of this Believer.
The Word of God works! For any born again follower of Christ Jesus who is willing to put aside things that are not working in their life. Church doctrines/ philosophies / worldly advice/opinions (even well meaning ones:). And resist accepting/adopting thoughts/ things that are contrary to the word of God.
Because, you’ve already got it!! You just to to know it.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
