Well, the calendars suggest we have arrived into a new year, and that a lot of boys’ and girls’ soccer filling OTF. There’s still plenty of basketball to go around, highlighted by a busy afternoon and evening on Friday.
Wednesday: No games scheduled.
Thursday: The start of a new year means soccer tournaments abound. In the boys’ side, Clear Springs is at the Georgetown ISD Tournament, while Clear Creek is at the Frisco ISD Tourney, and Texas City is at the Huntsville Tourney.
The girls’ tourney schedule has Clear Falls and Clear Springs at the Humble ISD Tourney.
The Rockets start the new year with a 5 PM trip to the Nets. Space City Home Network starts coverage at 4:30 PM.
Friday: The boys’ basketball schedule will be early, as Clear Creek at Alvin, La Porte at Ball, Wharton at state-ranked La Marque, and Iowa Colony at Santa Fe each begin at 1 PM. State-ranked Friendswood at Texas City is at 2 PM.
A busy girls’ basketball schedule starts at 11 AM with La Marque at Wharton, followed by Ball at La Porte, Deer Park at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Clear Lake, and Brazoswood at Clear Springs at 1 PM. Kountze at Hitchcock is at 5 PM, while Santa Fe at Iowa Colony is at 7 PM.
The girls’ soccer schedule has Texas City and Clear Brook at the Iowa Colony Tournament, while Friendswood at the Aggieland Tourney. Clear Creek is at the Frisco Tournament. In regular season matches, Baytown Lee at Ball begins at 7:30 PM.
Saturday: In boys’ basketball, state-ranked Hitchcock hosts Silsbee at 1 PM.
The Rockets visit the Mavericks at 7:30 PM. Space City Home Network hits the air at 7 PM with the pregame show.
