Public invited to watch the LIVE Launch of NASA Artemis II at the Official

Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, Feb. 6

HOUSTON, TEXAS (JAN. 27, 2026) – You’re invited to the ultimate watch party at Space Center
Houston, the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, for the LIVE event of Artemis II.
Watch as the next milestone in human spaceflight take its leap with Artemis II astronauts Reid
Wiseman, commander; Victor Glover, pilot; Christina Koch, mission specialist; and Canadian astronaut
Jeremy Hansen, mission specialist, prepare to launch from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Pad 39.
NASA’s Artemis II campaign builds on the success of the uncrewed Artemis I mission in 2022 and
marks the first U.S. crewed mission beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972.
During the scheduled 10-day mission, the crew will travel aboard the Orion spacecraft on a lunar flyby,
testing its spacecraft systems and capabilities needed for future deep-space missions. The flight marks
a key step toward Artemis III and subsequent missions. As with Artemis I, NASA’s Space Launch
System (SLS) rocket will launch Orion into space.

While at Space Center Houston, visitors can also explore the newly installed
“Commander Moonikin Campos” displayed in the Artemis Gallery. The male-bodied manikin occupied
the commander’s seat during Artemis I, collecting critical data that informed design improvements and
operational decisions supporting NASA’s commitment to safety and mission success.
Moonikin Campos was named in honor of Arturo Campos, a NASA electrical systems manager who
played a key role in the safe return of Apollo 13.
In addition to the watch party, the event coincides with Space Center Houston’s 34th annual Space
Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC), a three-day gathering that brings educators from around
the world together to explore the rigor and wonder of space exploration, February 5-7. Highlights
include a panel of Blue Origin astronauts who will share their spaceflight experiences and insights.
Tickets for the Artemis II watch party are $15 and available to Space Center Houston members and
the public on January 27. Attendees will receive a commemorative T-shirt while supplies last.
Launch dates are subject to change. Updates and additional information are available on Space Center
Houston’s FAQ page.
