Double Dose of Volleyball and Football

Thursday offers a heavy dose of high school volleyball, as seven of the area’s teams will be in action. Meanwhile, an undefeated Friendswood team seeks to keep their hot hand on Thursday when they take on Pasadena.

Wednesday: No games scheduled. 

Thursday: High school volleyball begins at 5 PM with Carnegie at Hitchcock, followed at 5:30 PM with Clear Springs at Deer Park. Clear Creek at Dickinson and Clear Falls at Clear Lake each start at 6 PM, while Texas City at Pasadena begins at 6:30 PM. Yates at La Marque starts at 7 PM.

Week 7 of the high school football season begins when undefeated Friendswood puts their 6-0 record on the line when the Mustangs visit Pasadena at 7 PM.

Sam Houston State visits Liberty for a 6 PM kickoff, which will air on ESPNU.

Friday: High school football kicks off at 7 PM with New Caney at Ball, Hitchcock at Bellville, Brazosport at La Marque, and Texas City at Port Neches-Grove.

In high school volleyball, Santa Fe at Ball starts at 4:30 PM, while Clear Brook at Barbers Hill begins at 6:30 PM.

Saturday: College football begins at 11 AM with Texas A&M at #14 Missouri (KTRK13), followed by Mississippi Valley State at Texas Southern and Southern at Prairie View at 2 PM. The annual Red River Rivalry resumes at 2:30 PM when #1 Texas takes on Oklahoma at Dallas’ Cotton Bowl (KTRK13), while #22 Houston at Kansas State (KRIV26) also kicks off at 2:30 PM. Rice at East Carolina (ESPN+) and Incarnate Word at Lamar (ESPN+) both begin at 3 PM.
