CPA CLASSES STARTING JANUARY 21ST

Ever wanted to experience a ride along with a police officer? How about attending a K-9 demonstration? Citizen Police Academy classes might be just the thing for you! Beginning th4 21st of this month, new students will be able to get an insider take on Gang Intel, SWAT, Municipal Court, Bomb Squad and more. In these volatile times, gaining insight into the workings of law enforcement as well as the individuals who commit these types of crimes, is good information to have. The other side of the coin is that attending these classes and becoming a part of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association gives you the opportunity to show your appreciation for the individuals who are willing to put their lives on the line to keep our community safe and secure. Most of us interact with law enforcement rarely and when we do it may only be for a traffic violation or minor burglary. It is not as common to interact when a child has been harmed, a school attacked, or a bank robbed at gunpoint. Unfortunately, these occurrences are common in law enforcement and the impact of dealing with crises like the ones we have recently seen occur in our cities, carries a burden with it for the officers as well as the victims. Showing our support for their sacrifice is definitely a higher calling and something each of us should remember as we move safely through our day. If you would like to get a more inclusive understanding of law enforcement, meet, talk with and learn from some of the finest officers to serve on any police force in any city, join us this coming Monday at 6:00 P.M. at the Texas City Police Department. Meet some of our current members, learn a little more about the classes and the opportunities to serve that come with completing the course. The Texas City Citizen Police Academy builds understanding, increases public awareness, and establishes a partnership between the Texas City Police Department and the citizens of Texas City. Texas City Police Academy Alumni works to create clarity and transparency between our police force and the community. Classes are held on Mondays at 6:00 PM.
