Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission Earns 2020 Governor’s Community Achievement Award

La Marque, Texas (April 1, 2020) – The Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission earned recognition in the prestigious Keep Texas Beautiful 2020 Governor’s Community Achievement Awards in Category 5, which is for cities with a population of 15,001 to 25,000. The Commission earned second place designation for their growing efforts in the areas of community outreach, cleanup events, engagement and education.   

La Marque City Council appoints the Commission members and the programs are funded by Council each year. Members include Chairman Joe Compian, Alanah Brown, Kathy Herrin, Rebecca Mould, Terry Pettijohn, Tracie Steans and Kimberley Yancy.

For more than thirty years, Keep Texas Beautiful, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), has awarded the prestigious Governor’s Community Achievement Awards to Texas communities for their outstanding overall efforts to keep their communities beautiful.
