Mired in an 0-4 start, the Texans fired head coach/general manager Bill O’Brien on Monday, mere hours after he said he wasn’t concerned about his status. O’Brien had been at the helm of the franchise as head coach since 2014, taking the Texans to four AFC South Division titles yet was unable to get them past the divisional round of the playoffs. He officially took the role of general manager earlier this year and received considerable derision after trading All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals in March. O’Brien leaves the Texans with a career record of 52-48.
